An icy roadway appears to have played a role in a rollover accident that injured two Anamosa teenagers, authorities said.
Katie M. Thomas, 18, of Marion, was driving north on Highway 151 when she lost control of her vehicle about two miles east of Springville around 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Linn County Sheriff's Office. The roadway was 90 to 100 percent ice-covered at the time, authorities said.
Two teens suffered minor injuries in the crash. Natasha R. Strait and Rebecca M. Moyer, both 17 and from Anamosa, went to a hospital by a private vehicle to be checked by a doctor, authorities said.
Thomas declined medical treatment. All of the occupants were wearing their seat belts.
Thomas was charged for driving with a suspended license, authorities said. The accident remains under investigation.
