Anamosa teacher may enter guilty plea in sex abuse case

An Anamosa teacher accused of sexually exploiting a student will apparently enter a guilty plea before his trial date.
Police arrested Andrew Buck, 28, last year on charges he engaged in sexual conduct with an 18-year-old female student on at least three occasions. Buck was a band instructor at West Middle School in Anamosa and also coach of the girl's high school golf team.
Buck was scheduled to go on trial March 15
The judge will set a date for a plea and sentencing once the court paperwork is received. Parsons said such a change is not official until the paperwork is filed.

with a preliminary hearing set for Monday. But Jones County Attorney Phil Parsons said Buck's attorney notified the judge that Buck plans to change his plea to guilty. The preliminary hearing was cancelled.
