Apr. 2, 2010 11:52 am
The Noelridge Greenhouse's annual Easter Show and Open House will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the greenhouse, 4900 Council St. NE.
Admission is free and open to the public. The first 500 children ages 12 and under will receive a free marigold plant.
Those visiting will see the spring bulbs, tropical areas, desert areas and the annuals that will soon be placed outside, as well as exhibits by the Eastern Iowa Aquarium Association, the Iowa Honey Producers Association and the Eastern Iowa Beekeepers.
A wide variety of tropical plants will be available for sale for $2 each while supplies last. Pressed flower card and bookmark making will be available earlier in the day both Saturday and Sunday, and the Easter bunny will visit in the afternoon.
A Phalaenopsis orchid sits on a table of other orchids Thursday as workers and volunteers at the Noelridge Greenhouse in Cedar Rapids prepare for this weekend's annual Easter open house. (Cliff Jette/The Gazette)
