No one was injured when an ambulance and a car collided Wednesday in southwest Cedar Rapids.
The wreck at 16th Avenue and Wiley Boulevard SW was reported just after 2 p.m. Police said the ambulance was on a way to a call with its lights and sirens activated when it was struck. No patients were inside.
Police said the driver of the northbound car did not see the ambulance, which was westbound on 16th Avenue SW.
The crash bent one of the rear wheels of the car and caused its side airbags to deploy. Damage to the ambulance appeared minimal.
Police were still investigating to determine possible charges.
