Amanas meat shop finds ‘Cyber Monday’ niche
“Cyber Monday,” supposedly the biggest day for online shopping, gave a boost to a small store in the Amanas.
The Amana Meat Shop and Steakhouse had about 150 online orders come in today, more than triple its normal number.
The century-old shop offered a 10 percent discount for online purchases and promoted the deal primarily on Facebook and Twitter.
“Because there's been so much talk about Cyber Monday, I think today everybody's online and (sales) will probably drop a little bit tomorrow (Tuesday), but I expect it to be steady all this month,” operations manager Sharisse Lawrence said.
The most popular items ordered online, she said, are gift boxes of ham, cheese and sausage.
