ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - An Albuquerque man says he has successfully registered his dog to vote.
KOB-TV reports that the man, who didn't want to be identified, says he registered his dog Buddy after seeing a voter registration booth on the University of New Mexico's campus a few weeks ago. The man said he wanted to see how easy it was to register his dog so the registered Republican signed his dog up as a Democrat.
He said he received Buddy's voter registration card in the mail Wednesday.
The Clerk's Office for Bernalillo County, where the dog was registered, said state law does not require proof of your social, your date of birth, or even your name. They said what the man did was voter fraud.
