Ainsworth man faces attempted murder charge after shooting at hotel near Williamsburg
WILLIAMSBURG - An Ainsworth man is charged with attempted murder following a shooting at the Ramada Inn Hotel on Interstate 80 near Williamsburg.
The Iowa County Sheriff's Office said just before noon Saturday, 48-year-old Roy Lee Boughner shot at Yule Park, of Iowa City, with a 9 millimeter semi-automatic handgun.
Deputies said Boughner was 10 to 15 feet from Park and missed him. When Boughner tried to fire again, his gun jammed, allowing Park to escape.
Officers with the Iowa County Sheriff's Office and the Iowa State Patrol arrested Boughner within minutes of the shooting.
He made his initial appearance Sunday morning in Iowa County Court. A judge set his bond at $25,000.
