AEGON outsourcing will eliminate 60-80 jobs in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS - AEGON USA will eliminate between 60 and 80 positions in Cedar Rapids over the 14 months as it outsources some non-customer contact work to India.

CSC India, a unit of Falls Church, Va.-based CSC, will handle annuity processes for AEGON USA, according to Cindy Nodorft, manager of corporate communications.

“CSC is a longstanding business partner of AEGON,” Nodorft said. “They provide our company and many others in the life insurance and annuity business with this kind of support.

“This is going to be a gradual transition through all of next year. We think many of the positions that will be impacted will be reduced through normal attrition.

“We're working closely with the employees and giving them plenty of advance notice so they can possibly transfer to another job within the same group.  The customer service positions are where the jobs are going to be.”

AEGON USA, a subsidiary of AEGON nv of the Netherlands, employs 3,700 in Cedar Rapids.
