A quiet New Year's Eve for area police departments
Here's a look at New Year's Eve activity around Eastern Iowa.
A Cedar Rapids police dispatcher says there was an accident on Eighth Avenue and Sixth Street SE, but the crash was not alcohol or holiday related. For the most part, all reports look to be “normal activity” for a Friday night.
A Linn County Sheriff's Office dispatcher says nothing really happened there overnight, noting it was a “quiet night.”
According to the Iowa City Police Department's arrest blotter posted on the department's website, there were three public intoxication arrests and two operating while intoxicated arrests related to New Year's Eve celebrations.
A Johnson County Sheriff's Office dispatcher says there were two OWI arrests last night.
