Dec. 27, 2017 4:11 pm
MARION - Employees as seven Marion restaurants served alcohol to an underage person during a Dec. 19 alcohol compliance check by Marion police, according to a departmental news release.
Police checked 20 businesses and found 12 in compliance and one closed.
The department had two underage females, ages 19 and 20, enter the restaurants. The two were served at Urban Pie, Louie's Scoreboard, Tomaso's Pizza, Best Western Longbranch, Napoli's, Mandarin Spice and Cibo Fusion Restaurant and Lounge.
The compliance checks were part of routine alcohol and tobacco checks done several times a year, Public Information Officer Tom Daubs said.
The individuals who served the underage females were cited for supplying alcohol to a person under legal age, which comes with a $735 fine.
