Seven former Cedar Rapids RoughRiders are on teams that have qualified for next week's NCAA Frozen Four hockey national semifinals.
The April 7 matchups in Boston are Nebraska-Omaha versus Providence and North Dakota against Boston University.
Senior forward Cason Hohmann is the lone former RoughRider at BU. He has 10 goals and 18 assists in 38 games for the Terriers.
North Dakota's lone Cedar Rapids graduate is senior forward Michael Parks. He has 12 goals and 20 assists in 41 games.
Former Riders at Providence are defenseman John Gilmour and forward Nick Saracino, both juniors. Saracino leads the Friar with 35 points (12 goals, 22 assists) in 38 games, while Gilmour has four goals and 11 points in 28 games.
Nebraska-Omaha sophomore defenseman Ian Brady and sophomore forwards Austin Ortega and Jono Davis also played in Cedar Rapids. Ortega has 20 goals and 37 points in 38 games, Davis a goal and six assists in 27 games and Brady five goals and 16 assists in 37 games.
