30 people stung by stingrays in San Diego

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Officials say 30 people have been stung by stingrays at San Diego County beaches and one person was taken to a hospital.

San Diego Lifeguard Lt. Nick Lerma says eight of the 30 were stung after 3 p.m. Wednesday at La Jolla Shores and Black's Beach.

Lerma says paramedics helped lifeguards in treating the injuries because so many people were stung at the same time.

Six people also reported being stung at Seal Beach in Orange County.
