3 new stores coming to Tanger Outlet Center

Under Armour, Christopher & Banks, and J. Crew are planning new outlet stores at the Tanger Outlet Center in Williamsburg.

Sports apparel retailer Under Armour plans to open May 3 or sooner, Tanger officials said. Under Armour currently has no outlet stores in Iowa, according to the corporate web site. It says Under Armour stores have a “look and feel that represents the collision of athletics, science, industry and performance.”

Christopher and Banks has targeted a May 5 opening. The women's apparel retailer targets the Baby Boom market. It has area stores at Lindale Mall, Westdale Mall and Coral Ridge Mall.

J. Crew plans to open a outlet store at Tanger in October, Tanger officials confirmed. The casual apparel retailer operates one Iowa location at Jordan Creek Towne Center in West Des Moines. The company's 249 stores offer apparel and shoes for women, men, boys and girls.

Tanger Outlet's most recent arrival, Loft Outlet, was opened this week by Ann Taylor Stores in the former Liz Claiborne store location. With the new additions, Tanger is expected to have 55 stores.
