18-year-old charged in Hiawatha Quick Mart robbery

The 18-year-old Cedar Rapids man was charged Friday in Linn County District Court for robbing a Quick Mart Wednesday in Hiawatha.
Anthony Kyle is charged with with first-degree robbery. Kyle allegedly robbed the Quick Mart at 655 Robins Road in Hiawatha, while armed with a .38 caliber revolver. Police say he demanded cash from the lone female store clerk about 2:20 p.m. July 7, and then hit her in the head with the gun.
Kyle was found a short time later in an apartment building at 700 Ryan Ave., two blocks from the store.
Two hours later police brought Kyle out of the building without incident.
The stolen money was recovered and police also found a revolver matching the one used in the robbery.
