The Senate confirmed Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday, securing her place as the first Black female justice. Iowa’s U.S. Sens. Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst voted against her confirmation.

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, selected by the GOP to deliver the Republican Party’s response to President Joe Biden’s first State of the Union Tuesday, scored a mix of A’s, B’s, C’s and D’s.

The Supreme Court’s conservative majority on Wednesday signaled it would uphold Mississippi's 15-week ban on abortion and may go much further to overturn the nationwide right to abortion that has existed for nearly 50 years.

Texas Republicans approved redrawn U.S. House maps that favor incumbents and decrease political representation for growing minority communities, even as Latinos drive much of the growth in the nation’s largest red state.

An ad by advocacy group Tax March began airing last month in Iowa. One of the ad’s claims can be measured. But another is, at this point, speculation.

Legislation would honor military members, diplomats and humanitarian service in Afghanistan. Despite the chaotic end of operations, their resolution says their service “is something to be remembered, lauded, and honored.”
