North Central’s Jaslynn Gallegos won the 116-pound NCWWC title last season and dropped down to 109 to coincide with the Olympic weights for later this spring. Kendra Ryan was an All-American at 109 for the Cardinals last year. Both are vying for the same prize this season.

Colorado Mesa’s Marissa Gallegos possesses a passion for wrestling that pales in comparison only to her love of her family. She returned to the National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships finals for the second time in three seasons Saturday at Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids.

North Central’s Yelena Makoyed is one of the best pound-for-pound competitors in women’s college wrestling. She is also an accomplished international wrestler, representing the United States in the UWW World Cup and winning an international tournament in Croatia a month before the NCWWC finals.
