Stormy Daniels to appear in Iowa
Gazette Des Moines Bureau
Jul. 5, 2018 9:38 pm
DES MOINES - Adult film actress Stormy Daniels, paid $130,000 for her silence over a supposed affair a decade ago with Donald Trump, is slated for a two-night engagement at an adult entertainment club in Iowa this week.
The website for Big Earl's Goldmine in Des Moines says Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Gregory Clifford, will bring her 'Making America Horny Again” exotic dance tour to the venue Friday and Saturday. No one at the establishment could be reached for comment Thursday.
Daniels has received considerable publicity since it was revealed she received a $130,000 payment one month before the 2016 presidential election in exchange for her silence about an alleged affair with Trump.
She since has been appearing at strip clubs around the country but not in Iowa until now.
Daniels is involved in a legal dispute and political scandal focusing on a 2016 nondisclosure agreement signed by Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen and Daniels.
After the existence of the agreement was revealed by the Wall Street Journal, Daniels sued Trump and Cohen to argue that the agreement is invalid. The dispute has gained significant media coverage, and has drawn legal attention from prosecutors to Cohen's involvement in the payment.
In the saga's most recent development, Michael Avenatti, the lawyer who emerged as national figure by representing Daniels, has announced he is weighing a 2020 political challenge to Trump's re-election if no one else with a good chance of defeating the GOP incumbent steps up.
'So look, I hope somebody that's competent enough to beat this guy ... steps forward,” he said on CNN. 'If they don't, I will.”
