Soweto Gospel Choir concert postponed

Hancher event rescheduled for Oct. 10, 2022

IOWA CITY — The Soweto Gospel Choir’s concert originally slated for Sept. 29 at Hancher Auditorium has been postponed to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10. Visa-related issues have delayed the choir’s arrival in the United States.

Tickets for the original date will be honored Oct. 10. Available tickets remain on sale at the Hancher Box Office, (319) 335-1160 or 1-(800) HANCHER or hancher.uiowa.edu/upcoming-events.

Titled “HOPE: It’s Been a Long Time Coming,” this Hancher commissioned work commemorates and celebrates South Africa’s Freedom Movement and the Civil Rights Movement in the United States.
