On July 28, 1940, Skeeter Webb (Cedar Rapids Raiders - 1935-36) went 5-6 at the plate with a double, a HR, three RBI and scored three runs, but it wasn't enough as the Chicago White Sox fell to the New York Yankees 10-9.
Skeeter Webb hit .219 with 3 HR and 166 RBI during his 12 year MLB career playing for the St. Louis Cardinals, Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers and the Philadelphia Athletics. Webb was a member of the 1945 World Series Champion Detroit Tigers squad.
Skeeter Webb was a member of the 1935 and 1936 Cedar Rapids Raiders teams. In 1935, The Raiders finished 6th with a record of 53-57. Webb hit .320 with 8 HR in 111 games. In 1936, the Raiders placed 2nd in the Western League with a mark of 70-58. Webb hit .292 with 11 HR in 128 games for Cedar Rapids.
