On August 6, 1994, Reggie Jefferson (Cedar Rapids Reds - 1987-88) was 3-3 at the plate with three doubles, four RBI, a walk and scored two runs as the Seattle Mariners defeated the Kansas City Royals 11-2.
Reggie Jefferson hit .300 with 72 HR and 300 RBI during his 9 year MLB career playing for the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Seattle Mariners and the Boston Red Sox.
Reggie Jefferson was a member of the 1987 and 1988 Cedar Rapids Reds teams. The team finished 1987 with a 70-70 mark. In 1988, Cedar Rapids finished the regular season with a 87-53 record before defeating Springfield and Kenosha en route to the Midwest League Championship. Jefferson hit .222 with three HR in 15 games in 1987 before returning in 1988 to hit .288 with 18 HR and 26 doubles in 135 games for Cedar Rapids.
