Mar. 3, 2010 7:12 pm
The Los Angeles Kings traded former Cedar Rapids RoughRiders forward Teddy Purcell to the Tampa Bay Lightning today. The Kings also traded a draft pick to Tampa and received veteran forward Jeff Halpern in return.
Purcell, 24, played in 41 games this season for L.A., picking up three goals and three assists. He split last season between the Kings and AHL's Manchester Monarchs.
Purcell had 138 points in 143 games in the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons for the RoughRiders. He signed with L.A. as a free agent after a stellar freshman season at the University of Maine in 2006-07.
