Nov. 1, 2013 11:38 pm
INDIANAPOLIS - Dylan Steman scored an unassisted goal with 1:04 left in overtime to lift the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders to a 3-2 win Friday night over the Indiana Ice.
The Riders (6-1-1, 13 points) blew a late lead for a second straight game, as Jake Cass scored with 14 seconds left in regulation to send the game to extra time. Cedar Rapids gave up a goal in the closing seconds last weekend at Chicago, also coming with the opponent pulling its goaltender for an extra attacker.
Cedar Rapids built a 2-0 lead on a first-period goal from Andrew Poturalski and second-period marker from Jack Rowe. Poturalski's goal came four minutes in and was on the power play, Rowe's at even strength at the 18:15 mark.
Indiana scored both third-period goals.
Danny Tirone was stellar in net, making 38 saves for the victory. The RoughRiders were outshot in the game, 40-15, killing off all six Indiana power plays.
Cedar Rapids plays Saturday night at Muskegon.
