RoughRiders trade defenseman Rosburg to Sioux City

Dec. 6, 2013 1:49 pm
CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders traded defenseman Jared Rosburg to the Sioux City Musketeers on Friday for a draft pick and affiliate list player.
Rosburg, son of Baltimore Ravens assistant coach Jerry Rosburg, was scoreless in 11 games and had a plus-minus rating of minus-four. A Michigan State commit, the 17-year-old was in his first season with the Riders.
Cedar Rapids will receive a fourth-round pick in the 2014 USHL Draft in exchange for Rosburg, as well as the rights to affiliate list player Evan Weinger. He is a 16-year-old from California who has four goals and nine assists in 19 games this season for the Triple-A L.A. Junior Kings.
RoughRiders Coach Mark Carlson described Weinger as "rugged," and said he is expected to join the club next season.
The Riders host Green Bay on Friday night and Tri-City Saturday.
