RoughRiders sweep weekend with 3-2 win at Muskegon

MUSKEGON, Mich. - Casey Jerry and Andrew Poturalski scored 25 seconds apart early in the third period to help give the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders a 3-2 win over the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Saturday night.
The RoughRiders (7-1-1, 15 points) swept their road weekend series, including a win Friday night at Indiana.
Jerry scored at the 4:50 mark of the third period, with assists from Judd Peterson and Dylan Gareau. Poturalski added his team-leading seventh goal at 5:15, with assists from Mark Auk and Jason Kalinowski.
Muskegon came within a goal when Trevor Morbeck scored with 6:16 left, but the Riders hung on. Danny Tirone made 29 saves for the win in net, improving his record to 4-0.
The RoughRiders play against Wednesday night at Muskegon, then return home to begin a home-and-home series Friday night against Des Moines.
