RoughRiders shutout Des Moines

Brady Hjelle made 33 saves in net to help the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders to a 4-0 pasting of Des Moines in USHL hockey Friday night in Urbandale.
The Riders (24-7-5, 53 points) pulled within a point of first-place Green Bay in the USHL's Eastern Conference, with a game in hand. Green Bay was idle.
Cedar Rapids scored three power-play goals in the game, two in the first period from Justin Kovacs and Sam Warning. Warning added another goal with 1:50 left in the second, with Cason Hohmann essentially putting the game out of reach with a fourth goal with seven second left.
The RoughRiders host Des Moines on Saturday night at 7:05.
