RoughRiders' McGrath commits to Lowell

Winger Ryan McGrath of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders has committed to play college hockey beginning the fall of 2012 at Massachusetts-Lowell, he said on his Facebook page this weekend.
McGrath, 20, scored 18 goals and 42 points in 58 games last season for the Riders. He will play one more season in Cedar Rapids before heading to college.
In other RoughRiders news, defenseman Ian Brady has been named to an Under-18 United States team that will play at the 2011 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament from Aug. 8-13 in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Brady was one of 32 players who participated in early July at the USA Hockey Boys' Select 17 Player Development Camp in New York. That is how the U.S. team for the Hlinka international tournament was selected.
