May. 17, 2010 9:56 pm
Cedar Rapids RoughRiders forward Jordan DiGiando was selected by the Dubuque Fighting Saints in Monday's USHL Expansion Draft, according to RoughRiders Coach/General Manager Mark Carlson.
Both Dubuque and the Muskegon Lumberjacks, who join the league this season, were able to take seven players each in the draft. Existing teams could protect eight players and not lose more than one.
DiGiando, 19, had 12 goals and nine assists this past season for the RoughRiders.
The 2010 USHL Futures Draft will be conducted Tuesday. Each team can select six players with 1994 birthdates.
The 2010 USHL Entry Draft is Wednesday.
