Riders trip Tri-City for 2nd straight win

Jeff Costello scored twice and had an assist as the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders had three power-play goals en route to a 4-1 USHL win Sunday at Tri-City. The Riders finished their weekend road set with a 2-1 record.
Costello opened the scoring 8:04 into the game with a power-play goal assisted by Bryce Aneloski and Mac Bennett. Zach Lerke scored two minutes into the second period for a 2-0 Cedar Rapids lead.
Tri-City's Jaden Schwartz scored in the first minute of the third periof for Tri-City, but the RoughRiders put it out of reach with power-play tallies from Eric Robinson at 4:04 and Costello at 11:43.
Cody Campbell notched his first win in net for the Riders, making 28 saves. The Riders improved to 17-14-2, 36 points with the victory, which is third in the East Division.
Cedar Rapids plays Friday night at
Green Bay, returns home for a Saturday night game against
Chicago, then plays Sunday at
Jeff Costello's two goals and an assist help RoughRiders to victory.
