Riders lose in OT, 5-4

Team USA scored in the final three minutes of each period and in overtime, getting J.T. Miller's goal with 28 seconds left to beat the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, 5-4, Friday night before 3,438 fans at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.
Cedar Rapids had leads of 2-0, 3-2 and 4-3 it couldn't hold. The USA Hockey Under-18 team tied the game and send it to OT on a goal with 2:27 remaining by Nicolas Kerdiles.
Team USA also scored with 31 seconds left in the first period and 1:25 left in the second. It outshot Cedar Rapids by a 42-26 margin.
The Riders got goals from two goals from Michael Parks and one each by Stu Wilson and Jayson Megna. Brady Hjelle took the loss in net.
Cedar Rapids host
Dubuque on Saturday night at 7:05. It has a 22-7-5 record, its 49 points three behind Green Bay for first place in the USHL's Eastern Conference.
