Riders lose again to Green Bay

Alex Broadhurst's second goal of the game, midway through the third period, lifted the Green Bay Gamblers to a 2-1 win over the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders on Sunday afternoon at Green Bay's Resch Center.
It's the fourth win in five games this season for Green Bay (30-9-2, 62 points) against Cedar Rapids, this one extending the Gamblers' lead overall and in the USHL's Eastern Conference to five points over the Riders (26-8-5, 57 points). Green Bay has beaten Cedar Rapids three times by a goal, twice in a shootout, and rallied from a 3-0 hole with five third-period goals in the other victory.
Broadhurst scored with five minutes left in the first period for a 1-0 Green Bay lead. Justin Kovacs scored on the power play early in the second to tie the game.
Broadhurst scored again with 9:23 left for the game winner. Brady Hjelle made 31 saves but suffered the tough-luck loss in net.
The Riders play Friday night at Sioux Falls, return home Saturday to host Dubuque, then plays at Dubuque on Sunday.
