The Silver Hawks took the series from the Kernels in South Bend by winning two out of three games.
South Bend is a very good offensive team. They scored a total of 23 runs in the three games. I was impressed with many of the Silver Hawks offensively. The Arizona Diamondbacks have a few names they are very excited about for the future.
Yazy Arbelo is a left-handed power hitting first baseman/designated hitter. Arbelo leads the Midwest League in home runs, runs batted in, slugging percentage, and extra base hits. Oh, and he's fourth in doubles and hits for a .288 average.
Ender Inciarte is a left handed centerfielder. Despite having two errors on Thursday, he is good defensively and has great range in the outfield. He robbed at least two or three Kernels extra base hits with his range in this series.
Zach Walters is a switch hitting infielder who is a major run producer. He drove in five RBI in the series and went 4-4 on Thursday.
Matt Freeman is another left handed hitting infielder. Freeman plays second base and is strong defensively.
Now, we're off to West Michigan for a three game set with the Whitecaps, the Detroit Tigers minor leaguers.
