Players' lives enriched through giving in the community

"You make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give." Kernels players make several visits to the University of Iowa Children's Hospital during the season. While it delights the children to receive a visit from professional baseball players, it makes a long-lasting impression on the players. The players find that giving time off the field enriches their lives. The children just relish in the attention and enjoy the fun it brings with each visit. Jose Jimenez, Buddy Boshers, and Young Il Jung, all Kernels players, surprised the children during recent visits to the hospital.
