Nick Trabacchi of Cedar Rapids Kernels honored with 2025 Harmon Killebrew Award

CEDAR RAPIDS - Pitcher Nick Trabacchi has been named the Cedar Rapids Kernels recipient of the 2025 Harmon Killebrew Award, the Kernels and parent Minnesota Twins announced Thursday.
The award is given annually to a player from each of Minnesota’s minor league affiliates for outstanding community service. They are nominated by the respective affiliate’s general manager.
According to a news release from the Kernels, Trabacchi coached at the 2025 Kernels Youth Baseball Camp at Veterans Memorial Stadium and was a volunteer and guest at the Cedar Rapids Veterans Affairs Hospital. He also was one of the “last players standing” on Sunday’s when the team signed autographs for fans on the field, making sure to “connect with every fan that greeted him.”
Trabacchi, 26, was signed by the Twins out of independent baseball May 30. He finished with a 1-1 record and 3.81 earned run average in 28 1/3 innings this season for the Kernels, pitching twice in the Midwest League playoffs.
