Kernels will get new manager for 2011

Oct. 29, 2010 2:49 pm
It appears the Cedar Rapids Kernels will have a new manager for the 2011 Midwest League season.
Source Media Group has learned Bill Mosiello, who managed the Kernels to the playoffs in 2009 and 2010, is expected to move up to Double-A Arkansas this coming season. Originally, the entire coaching staff from 2009 and 2010 (pitching coach Brandon Emanuel and hitting coach Brent Del Chiaro) was slated to return to Cedar Rapids for a third-consecutive season.
Mosiello's Kernels won the first-half championship in the Midwest League's Western Division in 2010 and advanced to the second round of the MWL playoffs in 2009.
No word on who his replacement in Cedar Rapids will be. The parent
Los Angeles Angels are expected to announce all of their minor-league coaching staffs before the year ends.
Bill Mosiello (14) talks with Angels minor league infield instructor Rob Picciolo during a game last season.
