The Cedar Rapids Kernels season-long 50/50 raffle has yielded fantastic results, and there's still 16 home games left.
So far, the Kernels have raised $10,135 from the 50/50 raffle, with all of that money going to support The Kernels Foundation.
Created in 2000, the Foundation's goal is that all youth in Eastern Iowa have the opportunity to learn the life lessons that come from participating in athletics and recreational activities.
Funds received go to support various projects and organizations, including but not limited to the Jones Park Baseball Fields, the League of Dreams, CR School Foundation, the Boys & Girls Club, Jane Boyd, YMCA, Switch Program, Fairfax Youth Sports Association, and the Kernels Summer Reading Program.
The Kernels hope to raise an additional $5,000 to reach their goal of $15,000 from the raffle this season.
Fans can still purchase 50/50 raffle tickets and have a shot at winning half of the prize money, up to $599.
Tickets cost $1 for one and $5 for six tickets and can be purchased from raffle ticket sellers in the stands or at the KDAT 50/50 Raffle Table on the concourse.
