Kernels rally for 7-6 win over Wisconsin in extra innings

The Cedar Rapids Kernels rallied from a 6-2 deficit to win the first game of a three game series with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, 7-6, in 10 innings. The win is the second in a row and the second in a row in extra innings.
The Kernels scored two runs in the ninth to tie the game at 6-6 on a two run single by Luis Jimenez. They took the lead in the 10th as Adam Younger walked and scored on a double to right field by Mike Trout. The ball got away from right fielder Franklin Romero to allow Younger to score from first on the error.
Kernels starter Patrick Corbin allowed six runs on 10 hits, walked two and struck out five over 6.2 IP in a no-decision effort. Jon Bachanov (1-0) struck out five over 2.1 innings of scoreless relief and Jeremy Berg worked around a single in the 10th for his second save. Reliever Hector Burgos (1-1) took the loss for the Timber Rattlers.
Randal Grichuk was 2-5 and hit a two run homer in the sixth inning. Luis Jimenez was 2-4 and had 3 RBI and Mike Trout finished the game 2-6 and extended his hitting streak to 10 games. Jean Segura was 2-4 with two stolen bases; he leads the team with seven on the year.
