Kernels host BrewNost event

Even after the baseball season is over, community members will still have the opportunity to come to Veterans Memorial Stadium for a night of food, fun, and of course, beer.

For the first time ever, Veterans Memorial Stadium will host BrewNost, an international beer tasting event that benefits the National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library.

BrewNost is on Sept. 23 from 6-9:30 p.m. and features premium international beers and wine, flavorful food pairings from local chefs in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, as well as live music from the San Francisco-based band, The Mad Maggies.

Cost of admission is $60 if purchased ahead of time, and $70 at the door.

In addition to partaking in fabulous food and beverage, attendees will also have the opportunity to bid on silent auction items and a participate in a raffle to win a trip to the Czech Republic which consists of a 7-night stay and round-trip airfare for two.
