Kernels homer twice in 11-6 loss at Wisconsin

Appleton, WI – Adam Younger and Jose Jimenez both hit two run home runs, but the Kernels couldn't overcome four errors in an 11-6 loss to Wisconsin on Thursday. Luis Jimenez also drove in two runs and had two hits to raise his team-high total to 14 RBI.
Kernels starter Tyler Kehrer (0-1) allowed seven runs (six earned) on five hits, walked five and struck out two over 3.2 innings in taking the loss. Wisconsin reliever Andrew Lamontagne (2-0) held the Kernels to one hit and struck out three over four scoreless innings of relief for the win and Sean Halton was 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI.
Mike Trout extended his hitting streak to 12 games, going 1-4 with a stolen base. The Kernels only managed one hit over the final five innings and were held to six total on the night.
The loss drops the Kernels record on their nine game road trip to 3-3 and 7-8 overall. The Kernels wrap up the road trip with a three game commuter series at Burlington as Garrett Richards takes the hill against lefty John Lamb for the Bees.
