Kernels hold off Quad Cities
Vladimir Veras struck out Domnit Bolivar to end a ninth-inning rally, and the Cedar Rapids Kernels defeated the Quad Cities River Bandits Wednesday night, 11-10. The Bandits entered the bottom of the ninth trailing 11-8.
Veras earned his 10th save. The teams play again Thursday at 7.
