Kernels held to one hit in 2-0 loss to River Bandits

Davenport, IA - Quad Cities pitchers Anthony Ferrara and Boone Whiting combined to throw a one-hitter against the Kernels to win 2-0 at Modern Woodman Park in Davenport. Ferrara (2-1) did not allow a hit through seven innings. He struck out eight and walked one. Whiting replaced Ferrara in the 8th inning and went the final two innings. Whiting allowed no runs on two hits. He struck out three and walked none.
Suammy Baez was the tough luck losing pitcher. Baez (1-2) went six innings, allowing one run on four hits. Baez struck out nine and walked one. Quad Cities scored the first run of the ballgame in the 1st inning. Leadoff hitter Greg Garcia singled, stole second base, reached third on a wild pitch, and scored when Jonathan Rodriguez bounced into a force out.
Quad Cities added another run in the 7th inning. Kyle Conley drilled a solo home run over the fence in left field off of Kernels reliever Dakota Robinson to give Quad Cities a 2-0 lead. Robinson went two innings, allowing one run on two hits. He struck out one and walked none. David Harris had the hit for the Kernels.
