Kernels family fun day
The Cedar Rapids Kernels hosted their 8th Annual Family Day at the Ballpark on Saturday, August 21. Activities included face painting, catch in the outfield, inflatable games, and a ballpark-style lunch. Kernel players and Mr. Shucks also signed autographs and took pictures, which will be featured on the Show You Care page on KCRG.com. Funds raised from a silent auction will go towards the Kernels Foundation, which in turn will forward the money to the Cedar Rapids School Foundation to assist a number of the schools who were adversely affected by the flood of 2008. In addition, some of the funds will go towards buying Kernels tickets for unprivileged children.
