Kernels fall at Burlington, 4-1

BURLINGTON - The Burlington Bees scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning and went on to beat the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 4-1, Tuesday night at Community Field.
The only run for the Kernels (65-40) came in the second inning when Adam Brett Walker tripled and scored on a Max Kepler RBI single. Cedar Rapids hitters struck out 16 times, with Burlington starting pitcher Tyler DeLoach fanning 11 in 5 1/3 innings.
Reliever Daniel Hurtado (1-1) got the win. Former Kernel Cam Bedrosian pitched the ninth for his fifth save.
Christian Powell (2-4) gave up two runs in five innings to take the loss. The teams play again Wednesday night at 6:35.
