Kernels complete sweep of Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio - Jean Segura hit a home run and a double last night to drive home three runs as the Cedar Rapids Kernels completed a three-game sweep of the Dayton Dragons, 4-1, before 8,505 fans at Fifth Third Field.
Tyler Skaggs (8-4) won for the Kernels, pitching five innings of shutout baseball, striking out eight and walking one. Tyler Kehrer earned his fourth save, pitching the final four innings and giving up a run on four hits with two strikeouts.
Cedar Rapids (16-10 in the second half) has won five straight games and begins a three-game series at 7:05 tonight in Bowling Green, Ky., against the Hot Rods, a team new to the Midwest League this season.
