Kernels' Berrios named MWL Pitcher of the Week

Jose Berrios of the Cedar Rapids Kernels has been named Midwest League Pitcher of the Week for the period of August 5-11, the MWL announced Monday.
Berrios allowed just two hits in 7.1 shutout innings in a victory at Kane County on Saturday night. He was a first-round sandwich pick of the Twins (32nd overall) in the 2012 draft out of a high school in Puerto Rico.
D.J. Peterson of Clinton was named the MWL Player of the Week.
