Kernels All Stars

The Kernels had three players selected to play in the Midwest League All Star Game.

OF Travis Witherspoon will start for the Western Division team. He is a 12th round pick from 2009 out of Sumter, SC. Witherspoon is hitting .206 with 3 HR and 21 RBI. He has outstanding speed with instincts on the bases. Witherspoon is second in the league with 25 stolen bases in 30 attempts. He is a great defender with a very strong arm in center.

SP Max Russell will be on the pitching staff for the Western Division team. Russell is 4-4 with a 3.33 E.R.A. He has thrown 70.1 innings this season, which is third in the league. Russell has struck out 50 and walked only 29 batters.

LHP Dakota Robinson will pitch out of the bullpen for the Western Division team. Robinson has a 2-0 record with 6 saves and a 3.34 E.R.A. Robinson has struck out 30 batters and walked only 5 all season in 29.2 innings pitched.

The All Star Game will be held on June 21st. Quad Cities will host the event at Modern Woodman Park in Davenport, IA.
