The parent Minnesota Twins announced Wednesday that Cedar Rapids Kernels outfielder Zach Granite has been placed on the seven-day disabled list and been replaced on the active roster by outfielder Jason Kanzler, who joins the club from Twins extended spring training.
Granite has been diagnosed with a strained left rotator cuff. He was batting .313 (5 for 16) with an RBI in four games as the Kernels' leadoff hitter.
Kanzler, 23, was a 20th-round draft pick in 2013 out of the University of Buffalo. He hit .220 with three home runs and 15 RBIs in 44 games for the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Twins last season.
The Kernels play Wednesday night at Great Lakes.
