CEDAR RAPIDS - The parent Minnesota Twins announced Friday that shortstop Niko Goodrum has been placed on the seven-day disabled list of the Cedar Rapids Kernels and been replaced on the active roster by infielder Ryan Walker from Rookie-level Elizabethton.
Goodrum has played 100 games for the Kernels, hitting .256 with three home runs and 42 RBIs. He also has 20 stolen bases.
Walker was a 18th-round draft pick of Minnesota in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of Texas-Arlington. He played 42 games for Elizabethton, hitting .267 with a homer and 14 RBIs.
The Kernels activated pitcher Jose Berrios from the DL in time for him to make the start in a loss Thursday night at Quad Cities. With that move and this one, the team's active roster stands at a full 25 players.
Cedar Rapids plays Friday night at Quad Cities before returning home for a homestand that begins Saturday night against Peoria. The Kernels are 80-47 overall and headed to the Midwest League playoffs.
