Keller gets win Friday, Puk on IL, Rea back in the big leagues

CEDAR RAPIDS — Here’s a look at area Iowans in the minors. These are players in affiliated professional baseball from Eastern Iowa and the University of Iowa.
Guys that got released in the offseason and/or spring training are Mount Vernon grad and former University of Iowa pitchers C.J. Eldred and Brady Schanuel, Cedar Rapids Jefferson grad Spencer Van Scoyoc and former Iowa outfielder Robert Neustrom.
All the following statistics are through Friday.
Nick Allgeyer (Iowa/Philadelphia Phillies) — Pitcher was traded in early May from the Philadelphia Phillies to Houston Astros for cash. Since joining the Astros organization, the southpaw is 0-1 with a 7.11 earned run average in four appearances, one start, for Triple-A Sugar Land (Pacific Coast League). Has struck out 13 in 12 2/3 innings.
Ben Beutel (Iowa/Chicago White Sox) — Recently assigned from extended spring training to low-Class A Kannapolis (Carolina League), the reliever has gotten into one game and throw two shutout innings.
Tyler Cropley (Iowa/Kansas City Royals) — Catcher is 5-for-21 this season at Double-A Northwest Arkansas (Texas League).
Duncan Davitt (Iowa/Tampa Bay Rays) — Recently promoted from low-A Charleston, the pitcher has made one appearance for high-A Bowling Green (South Atlantic League) and thrown two shutout innings.
Matt Dermody (Norwalk/Iowa/Boston Red Sox) — Veteran southpaw pitcher has made eight appearances, seven starts, for Triple-A Worcester (International League). He has 2-1 record and 3.64 ERA, with 44 strikeouts in 42 innings.
Jack Dreyer (Johnston/Iowa/Los Angeles Dodgers) — Reliever is 2-0 with a 2.76 ERA in 14 appearances for Great Lakes (Midwest League). Has allowed just 11 hits in 16 1/3 innings (though 19 walks) and has picked up 18 strikeouts.
Nick Gallagher (Iowa City West/Iowa/Chicago White Sox) — Is 0-2 with a 7.45 ERA in 14 relief appearances for Double-A Birmingham (Southern League). Has allowed just 16 hits with 26 strikeouts in 19 1/3 innings.
Drew Irvine (Waukee/Iowa/Pittsburgh Pirates) — Sent to extended spring training in early May. For low-A Greensboro (Carolina League), went 1-0 with an 11.37 ERA in six relief stints.
Mitch Keller (Cedar Rapids Xavier/Pittsburgh Pirates) — Gave up six runs in six innings Friday night at Seattle, but still picked up the win. Is 6-1 with a 3.01 ERA in 11 starts for the Pirates this season. Has allowed just 54 hits in 68 2/3 innings, with 85 strikeouts.
Austin Krob (Lisbon/San Diego Padres) — Lefty pitcher threw 4 1/3 scoreless innings in a long-relief stint earlier this week for low-A Lake Elsinore (California League). Has a 1.86 ERA in seven appearances, six starts, for the Storm.
Adam Mazur (Iowa/San Diego Padres) — First season of pro ball has been good so far for the second-round draft pick. Has six pitching appearances, five starts, for high-A Fort Wayne (Midwest League) with a 1.80 ERA. Has allowed 19 hits in just 25 innings.
Mason McCoy (Iowa/Seattle Mariners) — Infielder hitting .233 in 45 games for Triple-A Tacoma (Pacific Coast League). Has four home runs, 18 RBIs and 12 stolen bases.
Cole McDonald (New Hampton/Iowa/Houston Astros) — Reliever is 0-1 with a 3.48 ERA in seven appearances since being promoted to Double-A Corpus Christi (Texas League). Has given up just four hits in 10 1/3 innings, with 17 strikeouts.
Ian Moller (Dubuque Wahlert/Texas Rangers) — Catcher has an even 100 at-bats in 29 games for low-A Down East (Carolina League). Hitting .210 with two home runs and 12 RBIs.
Dylan Nedved (Iowa/San Diego Padres) — Pitcher is 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA in 12 relief appearances. Also has a save. Has posted 21 strikeouts in 16 2/3 innings.
Ben Norman (Des Moines Roosevelt/Iowa/Chicago White Sox) — Outfielder is hitting .188 in 26 games since getting an early season promotion to Double-A Birmingham. Has two homers, 10 RBIs and six stolen bases.
A.J. Puk (Cedar Rapids Washington/Miami Marlins) — Lefty reliever is on the 15-day injured list for the Marlins with a “tired arm.” Is 3-1 with six saves and a 3.07 ERA for Miami. Has 19 strikeouts in 14 2/3 innings.
Colin Rea (Cascade/Northern Iowa/Milwaukee Brewers) — Briefly sent to Triple-A, thr veteran right-handed pitcher is back in the big leagues and threw 5 1/3 shutout innings in his most recent start for Milwaukee, against Houston. Is 1-3 with a 4.71 ERA in eight games, seven starts for the Brewers this season.
Tommy Specht (Dubuque Wahlert/Texas Rangers) — Outfielder was promoted from extended spring training to low-A Down East this week. Has yet to play in a game for the Wood Ducks.
Levi Usher (Cedar Rapids Prairie/Kansas City Royals) — Outfielder is hitting .163 in 27 games for low-A Columbia (Carolina League). Has one homer, seven RBIs and seven steals.
Connor Van Scoyoc (Cedar Rapids Jefferson/Los Angeles Angels) — Right-handed pitcher went six innings without giving up an earned run in a start earlier this week for high-A Tri City (Northwest League). Is 2-2 with a 2.87 ERA in seven overall starts this season. Has given up just 28 hits in 37 2/3 innings.
Trenton Wallace (Iowa/Toronto Blue Jays) — Lefty hurler is 4-2 with a 2.10 ERA in seven starts for high-A Vancouver (Northwest League). Has allowed just 20 hits and struck out 44 in 34 1/3 innings.
Peyton Williams (Iowa/Toronto Blue Jays) — First baseman hitting .266 with five home runs and 29 RBIs in 39 games for low-A Dunedin (Florida State League).
Keaton Winn (Pekin/San Francisco Giants) — Righty pitcher has made 10 appearances, including seven starts, for Triple-A Sacramento (Pacific Coast League). Has struck out 41 in 33 1/3 innings.
