Former Rider Martinez back to NHL

F0rmer Cedar Rapids RoughRiders defenseman Alec Martinez has been recalled to the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, the team announced Tuesday. He's been playing for the AHL's Manchester Monarchs.

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have recalled defenseman Alec Martinez from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League and have assigned defenseman
Jake Muzzin to Manchester, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.Martinez, 23, has played in all 20 games for the Monarchs this season. He currently leads the team in points (16), assists (11) and power play goals (four). Last season he made his Kings/NHL debut, playing in four games and recording two penalty minutes. He wears No. 53 with the Kings.
Muzzin, 21, has played in 11 games with the Kings this season, his first in the NHL, and has one point (an assist). He has also played in two games with the Monarchs this season and has two points (1-1=2) and two penalty minutes.
The Kings (13-7-0) complete their four-game road trip tomorrow in Montreal. The game is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. (PT) and will be broadcast on FS West, KTLK 1150 and along the Kings Radio Network.
The Kings next play at STAPLES Center on Saturday versus the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks at 7:30 p.m.
