Former player returns to Cedar Rapids

Chris Hook, a former Cedar Rapids Reds pitcher, is now the pitching coach for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
Hook spent the 1992 season with the Cedar Rapids Reds, playing at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The team won the Midwest League Championship.
Hook went 14-8 with a 2.72 ERA for the Reds, striking out 144 and walking only 53 batters. I had a chance to sit down and talk with Chris about his time in Cedar Rapids. He was engaged to his future wife while in Cedar Rapids. "Cedar Rapids Reds Super Summer" was a jingle that the team was known for, and his wife actually texted him about the jingle before he arrived in Cedar Rapids this week. He really enjoys coming back to Cedar Rapids because he thinks the new Veterans Memorial Stadium is one of the nicest facilities around.
Hook spent part of two seasons in the Major Leagues. In 1995 and 1996 he played for the San Francisco Giants. He had a career record of 5-2 with a 5.89
